When searching among the various Bay Area cities for an appealing place to lay down roots, you will inevitably come to the little city of Palo Alto. The self-proclaimed birthplace of Silicon Valley lies some 35 miles south of San Francisco and just 14 miles north of San Jose. If youre worried about access, you neednt be. Palo Alto can be easily accessed from a number of land routes including Highway 101, Interstate 280, and Highways 84 and 92. There are three major airports that are a short drive or bus ride away, namely those of San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland. The city even has a commuter rail station and ample public transportation.
